FAQ

A: Unlike most video system retailers and distributors, we are a manufacturer. We have engineers on staff that are constantly developing our systems to have the highest quality video with the most durable components. Our superior encoding, high bit rates, and most efficient compression algorithms, combined with extreme temperature and shock ranges, are the main reasons why Datatoys is used by industry leaders such as Lockheed Martin, AirBus, Gulfstream, USAF, Draken Int and many more. We personally work with our customers to customize an optimal system for their individual applications.

A: Our UDVP System has the ability to record 2 separate video files with up to 4 cameras. Picture-in-picture or a Switcher can be added depending on the application and customer’s preference. We also have a single camera, the AV-HD, that has Full 1080HD and is very portable and affordable.

A: Datatoys uses a modular wiring system which incorporates video, power, and audio into one simple connection, making all of our systems as simple to install as: plug and go! We designed all systems, no matter how complex, to be as user friendly as possible.

A: In order to shoot video you need two basic items: a camera and a recorder. On a camcorder, obviously these are packaged together, but for many applications it is best to have these two elements separate. Our video systems use small light weight digital recorders that record an analog signal from our small and light weight bullet cameras. By separating these two items you are able to mount the camera element in more extreme locations with the ability to record in harsh environments.

A: Datatoys uses optimized Sony EXView HAD CCD with HQ1 DSP 600 Line bullet cameras. To put it simply, our cameras have the best light sensors and interpreters with the most lines of resolution readily available to the consumer market. Our cameras also feature a cable strain relief, a wide range of interchangeable lenses, and are completely waterproof to over 60ft.

A: We recommend VLC media player, DivX Player, and Windows Media Player.

A: There are a lot of great programs on the market. In-house we use MPG2CUT2 for our quick UDVP Pro editing. We use TMPGEnc 4.0 for video encoding. And we use Roxio and Sony Vegas for the final creation.
